I've written many times before regarding Giant's support of the Extra Mile Education Foundation and our commitment to their efforts here in Pittsburgh. You can do the search yourself if you want to get caught up on our history with this amazing organization, but today I want to specifically talk about our work with Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin. I have posted before about the day we spent with Coach Tomlin back on August 28th. At that point we had filmed a new commercial featuring Coach Tomlin and it has taken awhile to get it completed and ready to start airing. But today I am happy to share the finished commercial with you, so enjoy and I'll blah blah blah some more afterwards.
Coach Tomlin became involved with Extra Mile back in June when he chaired the annual golf tournament. At that time he expressed his desire to do whatever he could to help the cause and since that time he has become even more involved in the organization, donating his time to serve on the Board and other activities. He also agreed to this commercial and he did a fantastic job for us.
The commercial has actually been completed for awhile now, but working on a pro-bono commercial is a little different than a regular commercial. It needs to make the rounds among friends and associates to build support for the effort and find sponsors to help pay for media time - either paid or donated. It was during this time that our good friend Tony Quatrini, Director of Marketing for the Steelers, became aware of the commercial and Mike's involvement. The Steelers have been very supportive and Tony has arranged for the commercial to not only be shown on the Jumbotron during the games, but also to be inserted during Steelers television events, like the Coach's show. This is an incredible opportunity and I would like to personally extend our thanks to Tony and everyone at the Steelers for their help. Thank you!
And to everyone that helped us put this together, thank you as well. Special thanks go to Ambrose, Sue, Stan, Gary, Dax and everyone at UpperCut for all of their help, and especially to Coach Mike Tomlin.
